FACEIT support works through its help center at support.faceit.com. You create a ticket with the "Submit a request" form. Ban appeals go through the same form when you pick I Am Banned as the Contact Reason. Support makes the final call, and a cheating ban stays if banned software ever ran on your PC.
How to contact FACEIT support
A ticket is a support request with a number and a message history. Here is how to create one:
- Open the FACEIT help center. From a match room you can get there through the three-dot menu, then Support, then Go to FACEIT support.
- Log in to FACEIT and open Submit a request. Some reasons can't be sent without logging in.
- Enter the email linked to your FACEIT account.
- In Contact Reason, choose the main reason and then the specific one. For a ban that is I Am Banned, then Temporary Ban or Permanent Ban, then the name of the ban.
- Fill in Subject and Description. The form asks for your FACEIT profile link, game and region, and for a match dispute it also wants the match room link.
- Drop your screenshots into Attachments and hit Submit.
Replies come by email, so check your spam folder too. FACEIT doesn't publish a response time. The form only says an agent will get back to you soon.
Put everything into the first message: match link, time, and the error or ban text copied word for word. Otherwise the first reply you get is a request for exactly that. Passwords and 2FA codes never go in a ticket. And one issue means one ticket. For AFK and leaver bans, duplicate tickets get all your current and future appeals rejected automatically.
Which Contact Reason to choose
Your issue | Contact Reason |
|---|---|
Ban or matchmaking restriction | I Am Banned |
Match not counted, wrong Elo | Elo, Server & Matchmaking Issues, then Elo Calculation Issues |
Subscription payment | Subscriptions |
Hacked account, email change, account recovery | Account and Game Management, then My Account |
Cheater or abuse in a match | Report button on the match page, or Report Player in a ticket |
How FACEIT punishes rule breaks
Season 9 started on August 5, 2026, and brought a new ban policy with it. Cheaters, smurfs and stream snipers now sit out far longer. Trash talk is treated more leniently. Banter alone won't get you banned, but insults will, starting at 3 days.
The ladder goes warning, queue cooldown, temporary ban, permanent ban. Only three offenses have fixed terms in writing: cheating, smurfing and stream sniping. Insults and AFK have a minimum term. Everything else has no set term. Support weighs how bad it was and what's already on your record.
After any ban you're on probation. Slip again and probation gets longer and the next penalty heavier. FACEIT doesn't say how long it lasts.
Deactivating the account won't save you. You can't reactivate it for 6 months, and a fresh account made in that window is banned for good.
You'll still see the old "week, month, year" ladder on forums. That was for toxicity and griefing, and it ended on August 5, 2026. Today a first serious offense costs at least 7 days, and repeats can go all the way to permanent.
FACEIT ban reasons and how long bans last
Your profile lists the ban under one of the reasons below. The terms below come from the FACEIT ban policy in force since August 5, 2026.
Reason in profile | What it covers | Term |
|---|---|---|
Cheating | Cheats, banned software, bug abuse | 5 years, plus 2 years for each attempt to evade the ban, up to permanent |
Smurfing | Playing on a second account below your level | Second account banned for good, its Elo from the last 100 matches rolled back. Main account 3 months, 1 year to permanent for a repeat |
Ban evasion | Playing on another account while banned | Second account banned for good. A cheating ban grows by 2 years per attempt |
Stream sniping | Watching an opponent's stream during the match | 6 months, 1 year to permanent for a repeat |
Unsportsmanlike conduct | Insults, threats, toxicity | Insults from 3 days, severe toxicity from 7 days, up to permanent for repeats |
Ghosting | Passing information to the opponents | Depends on severity and history |
AFK / Leaver / noShow | Didn't join during warmup or was disconnected for more than 5 minutes in total | 30 minutes the first time, longer with each offense within 30 days |
Team damage | Damaging, flashing or killing teammates, sabotage | Depends on severity and history |
Policy breach, Platform abuse | Breaking platform rules | Decided by support |
Ghosting on FACEIT is feeding the enemy team info about your own. Smurfing on FACEIT is any play on a second account, and FACEIT doesn't care about your reasons for having one.
What does unsportsmanlike conduct mean on FACEIT?
It's FACEIT's label for how you treated people: insults, threats, harassment, in chat or on voice. Plain insults get you 3 days minimum. Severe toxicity starts at a week, and every repeat costs more.
What do platform abuse and policy breach mean on FACEIT?
Platform abuse on FACEIT means misusing the platform's features. In Contact Reason it sits in the Permanent Ban list. Policy breach is a general label for breaking the rules. FACEIT has never spelled out what exactly falls under either one, so if you got one of these, the I Am Banned ticket is where you find out why.
Where to see why you were banned and for how long
Look at your own FACEIT profile. An active ban sits right there with the game, how long it runs and when it started. No reason listed, or the term makes no sense? Screenshot it and ask in an I Am Banned ticket.
Only FACEIT knows the exact length of your ban. Go by your profile, not by third-party ban lists.
How to appeal a FACEIT ban
You can only get a FACEIT ban lifted through a ticket. There is no separate appeal form.
- Pick I Am Banned in Contact Reason. Then choose Temporary Ban or Permanent Ban and the ban name, spelled the way your profile shows it.
- Paste your profile link into the description, along with the ban date and the reason copied exactly.
- Say which match it was and what really happened there, and why that makes the ban wrong.
- Attach evidence such as match links and screenshots.
- Wait for the answer in the same ticket and add any new evidence there.
"I didn't do anything" without details that support can check rarely changes the outcome.
A cheating ban is lifted only if you can show that no banned software was involved. FACEIT keeps the ban if such software ran on your PC even once, whether in another game, before the match without a reboot, or by someone else. AFK and leaver bans aren't lifted because of internet problems, PC crashes or Steam updates.
If support says no, a new ticket only makes sense with new facts. Even a well-argued appeal doesn't guarantee an unban.
How to avoid a FACEIT ban
- Don't run cheats or questionable programs in any game on that PC.
- Play on one account. A second one gets banned for good.
- Join during warmup and stay in the match. More than 5 minutes disconnected in total already counts as leaving.
- Argue without insults.
- Don't shoot or flash your teammates on purpose.
- Don't watch your opponent's stream during the match.
If you partied with a player who was later banned for cheating, smurfing or ban evasion, FACEIT takes away the Elo you gained in matches together.
Raising your Elo with an experienced player
If you don't have the time or can't climb on your own, FastGG offers FACEIT Elo boosting up to 3,000+ Elo. You set the target as an Elo number, and the level in your profile updates on its own. Our boosters play at 2,000+ FACEIT Elo. The FACEIT anti-cheat stays on and no third-party software is used. In Solo mode the booster plays on your account. In Lobby mode you play yourself, the booster joins your team, and you don't share your login. The dashboard shows each match score, the Elo gained and your chat with the booster, and you can pause the order. If we miss the target through our own fault, we refund the unfinished part. To see how much Elo the next level needs, check FACEIT levels and Elo ranges.
FAQ
How long does a FACEIT ban last?
It depends on the reason. Cheating means 5 years, smurfing 3 months on the main account, insults at least 3 days, leaving a match at least 30 minutes. Your exact term is in your profile.
Do you lose Elo after a ban?
FACEIT doesn't say that a banned player's Elo is wiped. Smurfs do get a rollback: Elo from the second account's last 100 matches is reversed. After bans for insults, unsportsmanlike conduct or ghosting, opponents don't get their Elo recalculated. Deactivating your account doesn't reset Elo either.
Can you play on another account while banned?
No, that is ban evasion. The second account is banned for good, and a cheating ban grows by 2 years for each attempt. Deactivation doesn't help either: you can't restore a deactivated account for 6 months, and a new account made in that time is banned permanently.
Do you get banned for playing with a cheater?
No. But if you were in a party with them and they get banned later, you lose the Elo from your matches together. If the cheater was on the other team, you get your Elo back when three conditions are met: the player was banned permanently for cheating, ban evasion or smurfing, the match is among their last 100, and it was played within the last 3 months.
