How it works
Boosting is done in two ways: direct, and in a lobby, that is in a party
Direct boosting means handing your account over to the booster, who then raises the rank, plays through the placements or whatever else you ordered on a run of wins
Lobby boosting is a form of boost with no account handover: you play on your own account, in a party with the booster
Each of these options has its pluses and minuses. For example
A direct boost is usually a lot faster, but on the other hand handing your account to a stranger with no reputation is extremely risky, because there is no guarantee they will not try to steal it or play with cheats, which can get the account banned
A lobby boost, meanwhile, looks appealing: we play ourselves, we hand the account to nobody. But that kind of boost takes considerably longer, and the price rises noticeably compared with the direct method
Who needs a boost?
There are plenty of kinds of boost, from a Steam hours boost, which is aimed at raising the value of the account, through to a plain rank boost in matchmaking or on FACEIT
