Players used to switch Deadlock regions to reach an open matchmaking window. On 12 September 2024, Valve opened matchmaking 24/7 in all regions. The old regional timetable no longer explains when you can play.
Does citadel_region_override work?
The earlier guide used citadel_region_override. Its behaviour in the current client has not been verified, so entering it cannot be presented as a guaranteed way to change a match’s actual region or the region for an entire party. That also does not establish that Valve has officially removed the command.
Region and connection quality
Recommending Asia to everyone in Russia based solely on their country ignores individual connections. Latency and connection stability matter for play; the old regional timetable is no longer a reason to make that choice.
