s1mple and m0NESY crosshairs in CS2 2024 - set up your own

Playing with a random crosshair, or someone else's, without understanding how it works is a fast way to be disappointed by your own stats.

Crosshairs of professional CS2 players

Why setting up your own crosshair in CS2 matters

Playing with a random or a borrowed crosshair, with no idea how it works, is a good way to end up disappointed by your own results and stats. It matters that you set the crosshair up around your own preferences, your habits and your style of play; after that you will see the difference in your hit percentage yourself, and how much easier shooting becomes. Let us go through the types of crosshair, what sets them apart and why professional players prefer different settings even though every crosshair looks much the same

Types of crosshair

  1. Static crosshairs
    • What it is: the crosshair lines stay still, whatever you are doing and whether or not you are shooting.
    • Upsides: stable and predictable. Excellent for drilling accuracy.
    • Downsides: they do not show bullet spread, which can be awkward for newcomers.
  2. Dynamic crosshairs
    • What it is: the crosshair lines change with movement and shooting, spreading as you run and fire.
    • Upsides: they tell you about your own state and about bullet spread.
    • Downsides: they can distract you and create visual noise, which shows up especially in tense moments.
  3. Hybrid crosshairs
    • What it is: they combine elements of static and dynamic crosshairs.
    • Upsides: a balance between stability and information. Often used by experienced players.
    • Downsides: they take longer to set up, but the result is worth it.

Setting your crosshair up is not just a technical detail, it is an important part of how you play. Find the perfect crosshair and both your accuracy and your confidence in game will improve. Experiment with different types and settings to work out what suits you best. Try the crosshairs professional players use and adapt them to your own style. But remember that constantly changing crosshairs usually makes your results worse, so once you have found your own, focus on playing with it!

How to set your crosshair up

If you are new to this and do not know which crosshair to pick, we recommend using the crosshairs of professional CS2 players. We have attached the 2024 crosshair codes of s1mple and m0NESY. You can use these as a base and adapt them to your own needs; the ways to import them are described below

Setting the crosshair up through the game menu

CS2 crosshair settings in the menu
CS2 crosshair settings in the menu
  1. Open the game settings.
  2. Go to the Crosshair section.
  3. Set the parameters: line length, colour, thickness and gap.
  4. This route suits anyone who already has an idea of the crosshair they want. Tedious and fiddly as it is, it lets you build a crosshair that fits your preferences perfectly. (If you know what you are doing)

Adapting a ready-made crosshair

Taking a pro player's ready-made crosshair and nudging it toward your own needs through the settings from the previous section is an excellent option. You can change the colour, the line length and other parameters so that the crosshair becomes unique and comfortable for you and for the way you shoot.

A map from the Steam Workshop

Setting up a CS2 crosshair on a Steam Workshop map

For the truly lazy and for anyone who likes convenience, there is a special map on the Steam Workshop. It lets you set the crosshair up in real time, testing it in different situations against different map backgrounds and putting it on player models, which matters a great deal. Bear in mind that the map is not updated very often and some crosshairs may be out of date. Link to the map: Crosshair Generator
